Nagaland is a land of festivals and each tribe celebrates their festival with full dedication and passion. "Hornbill festival" is called the "Festival of Festivals".
The Hornbill festival is organised by Nagaland State Tourism and Culture Departments. Hornbill Festival displays a melange of culture under one roof.
In order to encourage inter-tribal interactions and to promote culture heritage, the Goverment of Nagaland organises the Hornbill festival.
Hornbill festival is organised at Naga Heritage Village Kisama about 12 Kms from Kohima. The aim of the festival is to revive and protect the rich culture of Nagaland by displaying its extravaganza and traditions. Therefore all the tribes take part in the festival.
In the festival ground one can enjoy the Traditional Morungs Exhibitions, sale of Arts and Crafts, Traditional; Food, etc. One can enjoy the closer understanding of people and culture of Nagaland by enjoying the food, songs, dances and customs of Nagaland.
So it is the best time to visit Nagaland and enjoy the Hornbill Festival.
